For someone who hasn’t worked out for any NBA teams, Josh Giddey is a prospect making his way up on draft boards. The 18-year-old Aussie missed the pre draft process due to being a part of the Australian national team’s quest for a gold medal out in Tokyo.

Giddey is projected to go as high as No.7 to the Golden State Warriors and has strong interest from the Memphis Grizzlies at No.10, according to Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer. Look for the youngster to possibly be a lottery selection on Thursday.

More on 2021 NBA Draft prospects:

  • Another young overseas prospect creating buzz is 2021 Turkish League MVP Alperen Sengun, a 19-year-old 6-10 center with polished footwork in the post. The big man recently had an encouraging workout for the #12 selection San Antonio Spurs, writes Spurs Zone’s Jeff Garcia. “It went well in every way,” Sengun told the Spurs Zone. “All the talking and the meetings went so well.”
  • VCU’s Nah’Shon ‘Bones’ Hyland is a point guard impressing both on and off the court during pre draft. Hyland was the star of the NBA Draft Combine on ESPN, as Alex Kennedy of BasketballNews.com tweeted that he’s ‘never talked to a prospect quite like’ the 20-year-old.
  • Teams searching for an experienced 3&D shooting guard could potentially select Houston’s Quentin Grimes. Grimes ‘wowed’ New York Knicks brass at his workout a few weeks back, details The New York Post’s Marc Berman. The 21-year-old is coming off leading his Houston Cougars to the Final Four.
