The historic Boston Celtics were built for winning, and Malcolm Brogdon can’t be more excited hooping next season wearing the franchise’s proud vendant colors.

“Their history, right? I mean, they’re the most winning organization in the league, and I think they’re more hungry to win than anybody,” Brogdon when asked what the Celtics stand out for him, via Basketball News’ Spencer Davies. “You can see that with the move they made for me and [Danilo] Gallinari.”

The Cs had an amazing 2021-2022 season which could have given them another golden ball in their hardware, but that painful collapse against the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals ended their hopes of a potential fairy tale story.

Despite this shortcoming, they kept their focus intact moving forward – patching up the holes that they needed to address.

To solve their shortage for ball handlers, the club took a shocking gamble and traded for Brogdon from the Indiana Pacers. The 29-year-old, to show his desire to win in the Boston-style of way, has adjusted himself to his new role of becoming Boston’s leader of the second unit. They also deepened their scoring firepower in the frontcourt, signing veteran Danilo Gallinari on a two-year deal.

The hunt for the 18th banner is on, which makes Brogdon pumped up with a high level of optimism moving forward.

“They want to improve. They want to win a championship. It’s all about Banner 18 for ’em. Now that’s all it’s about for me as well, and I’m excited to be a part of that.”

Fortified by the agony of last title series’ collapse and the determination to become the NBA’s winningest franchise again, the Celtics have put themselves in a competitive way of approaching the 2022-2023 campaign.

Teams like Milwaukee, Miami, Philadelphia, and the reigning champ Golden State will certainly be in the way, but Boston’s odds to skyrocket at the top are certainly off the charts also.
