Giannis Perfect From the Line; Bucks Lose to Raptors
Milwaukee Bucks’ star Giannis Antetokounmpo shot a perfect 17-17 from the free-throw line on Saturday – but it wasn’t enough as his team ultimately lost 103-96 to the Toronto Raptors.
“Giannis gets 17 free throws, but I think you could argue he could have 27 or 30 free throws,” said Bucks’ head coach Mike Budenholzer after the game, via Bucks’ beat reporter Eric Nehm.
“As a team, we had 35. I think you could argue we could have had 45 or 50.”
Antetokounmpo – a 2x NBA MVP – has struggled with free throw shooting during his illustrious career.
This season, Antetokounmpo is shooting 71% from the line; he’s a career 72% shooter from the line.
Pascal Siakim led the the way for the Raptors with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists on 11-20 shooting from the field.
The Bucks currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 27-18 record; the Raptors in eighth place with a 21-19 record.
