Based on height alone, you could tell that El Salvador did not stand much of a chance. New team member Lauren Betts scored 12 points in her debut. Betts is 6’7″ and looks to be a big contributor on the team this year as she gets used to playing with her new teammates.

“Just from the start, we played super strong. We did a good job of playing together as a team, not playing one-on-one and working together. We just transferred all of our hype from yesterday, when we couldn’t play, to today. We were just so excited. Being out of the country is amazing, and I think it is awesome playing with all of these amazing girls.”

The team faces Chile next who is currently 1-0 in the tournament. After seeing what USA did to El Salvador and the overall height of the team, Chile has to be feeling a little nervous. Especially because the USA is 25-1 in the tournament all-time and clearly show no signs of weakness this year.
Is there anything team USA can improve on?
